Human Research Protection Program

               Institutional Review Board

Welcome to the home page of the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Connecticut Children's!  This page provides information and resources for investigators, current and prospective research participants, and IRB Members.  If you need additional information or have other questions, please contact the HRPP Office at 860 545-9980.  Our offices are located at 80 Jefferson Street, in Suite 2E.  For our mailing address, staff directory, and additional contact information, please click here.

Recent News:  In 2009, the HRPP at Connecticut Children's obtained full accreditation from the Association for the Protection of Human Research Protection Programs, Inc. (AAHRPP).  We are now one of a small group of free-standing children's hospitals to have earned this distinction, which demonstrates our strong commitment to the highest ethical standards in research.  For more information on AAHRPP accreditation, please click here.

SPECIAL NOTE TO RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS:

If you have any questions or concerns about your role and rights as a research participant, would like to obtain information or offer input, or would like to register a complaint about a specific study, please contact (anonymously if you wish) Sarah Kiskaddon, HRPP Director, at (860) 545-9980, or via email at skiskad@connecticutchildrens.org.
