The Connecticut LAMPP (Lead Action for Medicaid Primary Prevention) project is an early intervention and prevention program working to reduce lead hazards in homes in fourteen cities and towns in Connecticut. Our goal is to protect children before they get lead poisoned, intervene at lower blood lead levels, and prevent exposure to children who will move into the same housing in the future.
LAMPP operates federal Lead Hazard Control and Lead Hazard Demonstration grants under contract with the CT Department of Social Services. Awards total $6,000,000 over a three-year period allowing LAMPP to provide services in the following communities: Bridgeport, Danbury, East Haven, Enfield, Hartford, Manchester, Meriden, New Britain, New Haven, Norwalk, Stamford, Torrington, Waterbury, and West Haven.
Since its inception in 2003, LAMPP has made over 1,300 housing units lead safe. Through collaboration with our partners and participating state agencies LAMPP will continue to educate the public to the dangers of lead poisoning and turn apartments and homes with lead hazards into lead safe homes.
