The Hematology/Oncology program at Connecticut Children's Medical Center is a multidisciplinary team of uniquely qualified, compassionate professionals dedicated to providing the best possible comprehensive quality care to children afflicted with cancer and disorders of the blood in a friendly, efficient and family centered manner within a safe, positive and supportive environment. We provide diagnosis and management services for children with all forms of cancer including leukemia, lymphoma, brain tumors, and all solid tumors, as well as hematological disorders including sickle cell disease, anemia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, immune disorders, bleeding disorders and thrombotic disorders. We work closely with our colleagues in other divisions including Pediatric Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Radiation Oncology, Radiology, and medical subspecialties to provide state-of-the-art comprehensive care for our patients. We strive to optimize each child’s potential and well- being while maximizing family functioning and participation in the care of the child. We approach each child and family recognizing his or her unique physical, emotional, developmental, spiritual and cultural strengths, and challenges.
