Designed to provide programs which will reduct the likelihood of injury and will improve athlete across all sports
The Sports Injury Prevention Program (SIPP) established this past winter has grown rapidly both in the training of student-athletes and the research and education needed to determine the best training program for each individual. We are involved at several area high schools and athletic organizations with several more joining this coming fall. Currently we are offering programs at Ethel Walker School and Southington High School and space is still available.
The injury prevention and speed/agility programs are run separately or in concert with one another and led by our trained therapists and trainers. Recently Danielle Barone, DPT, CSCS and Tricia Rogers, PT, MS, CSCS have joined our program to lead our Knee Injury Prevention Summer Program.
The SIPP programs are run for a period of nine (9) weeks with two 1 to 1 hour training session per week. Each group is led by one of our trainers with a low trainer to trainee ratio to assure personal attention and guidance in order to achieve the best results possible. The programs, also referred to as neuromuscular training programs, work to improve control of their movement, learning proper techniques while being educated on what are and how to avoid unsafe positions.
