ccmc-school_sidebar_logo.jpgCCMC School, an affiliate of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, provides comprehensive special education for students, from age five to 21, who require intensive intervention due to severe emotional, behavioral, cognitive, developmental and/or learning problems
such as:

  • Autism spectrum disorders
  • Developmental disabilities
  • Emotional disturbance
  • Intellectual disabilities
  • Multiple disabilities
  • Neurologic impairment
  • Specific learning disabilities
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Other health impairment

The school is designed to provide a high level of structure and support with an integrated array of services to address each child’s unique needs. CCMC School fosters the development of independence in all aspects of the students’ development so they may be transitioned back to their home school district. We believe that children can realize their potential, given an environment that is supportive, developmentally appropriate, and geared to specific individual needs. Our education and therapeutic specialists are dedicated to developing a sense of cooperation, self-motivation, adjustment and academic accomplishment for each child. CCMC School is approved as a special education facility by the Connecticut State Department of Education.

At CCMC School, family involvement and support is a priority. Counseling, parent education, and 24-hour crisis intervention services are provided along with several programming options, mental health and other specialized services.
