Support Groups

IBD Support Group

The IBD support group provides a very supportive, non-threatening, and fun place for Connecticut Children’s patients to meet other people with IBD. The program consists of informal discussion, games, and group-building activities.

Group members help plan their schedule of activities and events for the year. The children's group will place more emphasis on games and activities, while the teens will mix it up with more informal discussion. During group meetings, the parents have their own informal support group in the cafeteria.

The group meets on the second Thursday of the month from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the UTC Family Resource Center, located on the second floor of Connecticut Children’s main campus in Hartford. The meetings generally run September through May, with a family picnic hosted by one of our member families in June.
