For patients requiring pediatric transport services to or from the Medical Center, Connecticut Children’s Critical Care Transport Team offers 24/7 transport, staffed by highly trained professionals who have the essential skills and expertise to care for critically ill and high-risk infants, children and teens. The team includes a highly-skilled nurse, respiratory therapist, and board certified physician with advanced training. A transport ambulance is uniquely equipped with tools and supplies specifically for babies and children, including ECMO services.
When you call for pediatric transport as a referring physician, Connecticut Children’s pediatric emergency medical attending will provide immediate medical recommendations and work with you to determine the transfer needs.
