Webinar: Ovarian Cryopreservation

Previously recorded – May 2016

Christine Finck, MD
Surgeon-in-Chief, Connecticut Children’s Medical Center

Learning Objectives

Through ovarian cryopreservation, pubescent and pre-pubescent females undergoing cancer ttreatment are afforded an opportunity to preserve their fertility, which is often put at risk during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. For patients unable to receive emergency IVF, ovarian tissue preservation is a surgical alternative that does not delay medical treatment or require hormones.

The webinar aims to help physicians better understand the procedure firsthand and includes:

  • Background on the history of fertility preservation
  • The process of an ovarian tissue preservation procedure
  • Review of previous cases and outcomes nationally
