Boston Children’s Exec Named Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group President

HARTFORD, Conn. – After an extensive national search, Glenn Focht, MD has been named President of Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group and will join the physician practice group on December 4th, 2017. Dr. Focht has close to 20 years of experience as a physician and health care clinician and administrator.
Dr. Focht came to Connecticut Children’s from Boston Children’s Hospital where he was the Chief Medical Officer for the Pediatric Physicians’ Organization at Children’s (PPOC). During his time in Boston, Dr. Focht played a pivotal role creating an integrated behavioral health program and helped grow the hospital’s primary care network.
Prior to joining PPOC, he was with the Central Maine Group where he was the first president and physician executive for more than 350 physicians practicing 37 specialties, located in 19 communities.
Dr. Focht previously served as the Vice President of Medical Affairs for Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, Mass. In this position, Dr. Focht was responsible for operating and leading a group practice of more than 80 physicians, 24 practice locations, and yearly gross revenues exceeding $35 million.
From 1999 through 2004, Dr. Focht was Medical Director of Quality Care and Education, and Chief Medical Officer, for Milford Regional Hospital (Milford, Mass.).

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, Dr. Focht completed his residency at University of Massachusetts Medical Center. He earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and liberal arts from Messiah College in Grantham, Pa.
