HARTFORD, Conn. – Connecticut Children’s Medical Center has committed itself to a new level of transparency for our patients and families through an expanded partnership with NRC Health, one of our patient experience survey vendors.
This partnership makes Connecticut Children’s the first pediatric hospital in the Northeast to use existing patient experience survey data to publish independently verified ratings and reviews on our website and physician profile pages. See an example.
Glenn Focht, MD, Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group President, talked about the vital expansion of this partnership to grow our organization and improve the patient and family experience.
“Studies increasingly show health system selection to be driven by prior experiences and reputation. With upwards of 77 percent of parents trusting online reviews as much as personal ‘word of mouth’ recommendations,” Focht said. “The new NRC Health solution we’re adopting creates increased awareness for our clinical services and support services, earns parental trust, and promotes the exceptional care our teams deliver.”
“These ratings and reviews will give consumers a powerful tool to make more informed decisions about our physicians and the superior service and quality of care they can expect to receive as a Connecticut Children’s patient,” said Gil Peri, President and COO of Connecticut Children’s.
“We’re proud to partner with a progressive health system like Connecticut Children’s as they amplify a more customer-centered model of care,” said Steve Jackson, President of NRC Health. “Listening to your consumers and, in return, allowing them to read and learn from the experiences shared by thousands of patients builds a high level of confidence and trust. It’s an honor to partner with Connecticut Children’s along this journey.”
Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is a nationally recognized, 187-bed not-for-profit children’s hospital serving as the primary teaching hospital for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Named among the best in the nation for two of its pediatric specialties in the annual U.S. News & World Report “Best Children’s Hospitals” rankings, Connecticut Children’s is the only free-standing children’s hospital in Connecticut that offers comprehensive, world-class health care to children. Our pediatric services are available at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford and at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, with neonatal intensive care units at Hartford Hospital and the University of Connecticut Health Center, along with a state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center, five specialty care centers and 10 other locations across the state. Connecticut Children’s has a medical staff of nearly 1,100 practicing in more than 30 specialties.
NRC Health (NASDAQ: NRCIA and NRCIB) has helped healthcare organizations illuminate and improve the moments that matter to patients, residents, physicians, nurses, and staff for 35 years. Our empathetic heritage, proprietary methods, and holistic approach enable our partners to better understand the people they care for and, in turn, design experiences that inspire loyalty and trust.
