Hartford, Conn.: Safety technicians have found that only one in five car seats in Connecticut is installed correctly. To help raise awareness about the proper use of such seats, Connecticut Children’s Injury Prevention Center and its Safe Kids Connecticut program are sponsoring three upcoming car seat clinics for parents and caregivers.
During the clinics, certified technicians will inspect each car seat and make the necessary installation adjustments to comply with safety regulations. They will also offer guidance to help parents and caregivers install car seats correctly in the future.
“The best way to protect children in the car is to put them in the right seat at the right time and use it the right way,” said Luis Rivera, program coordinator of Safe Kids Connecticut. “If you have any doubt about whether you are using your child’s car seat correctly, these clinics provide a great opportunity to get an inspection from a certified car seat technician and enhance safety for your child.”
Gengras Volvo in East Hartford is providing indoor space for the events, which are supported through generous funding from the Connecticut Elks Association and the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Each clinic has a limited number of spots. Reserve your appointment today!
