HARTFORD, Conn. – Connecticut Children’s Vice President, General Counsel, Moses Vargas has been named an OnCon Icon award winner and member of the Top 50 Corporate Counsel list.
Vargas, who was recently highlighted in the global law magazine, VANGUARD, was honored with this distinction at the OnCon Icon Awards Gala on Friday, January 17th at the OnCon 2020 Conference in Orlando, Florida.
“It is an honor to be named an award winner and member of the Top 50 Corporate Counsel list” said Vargas. “My job is incredibly diverse and I feel privileged to focus my skill set on keeping children healthy and safe.”
The OnCon Icon Awards recognize the top professionals and top vendors in the categories of marketing, human resources, and legal. Nominees are voted on by professionals within each job function and this year more than 4,500 votes were tallied to determine all award winners.
Vargas joins an elite list of professionals who demonstrate excellence in their field.
Vargas currently oversees the Legal, Compliance and Risk Management Departments and provides legal advice and support to the operational departments of Connecticut Children’s, Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group, Inc., and all other Corporation affiliates.
Prior to joining Connecticut Children’s, Moses worked as a health care transactional/regulatory lawyer for Robinson + Cole, LLP. He has an extensive background in health care law, and has authored several pieces in legal publications focused on HIPAA and patient privacy laws.
Moses is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Health Lawyers Association, Health Care Compliance Association, Connecticut Lawyers Association, and Health Law Section of Connecticut Bar Association.
Moses obtained his Bachelor’s Degree, Master of Social Work and Master of Business Administration degrees from the University of Utah and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
