Transforming children’s health and well-being as one team.

  • Family-Centered Care: We place our patients and their families at the center of all we do, and embrace their involvement in all aspects of service and care.
  • Discovery: We look for new ways of doing things, by asking questions, investing in research, finding answers and sharing new knowledge with the world.
  • Integrity: We are open, honest and ethical, by taking responsibility for our actions, fulfilling our commitments, and admitting our mistakes and learning from them.
  • Teamwork: We live by the statement “I care if you succeed,” by working together to achieve our goals, valuing one another, and celebrating our success.
  • Quality: We come to work every day with the goal of making things better than the day before, and pursue the highest standards, the safest care in the safest workplace and the best outcomes in everything we do.
  • Respect: We honor the dignity and value of every person and take pride in our organization. We trust each other, treat each other as we wish to be treated and value our workplace as our home, and embrace diversity and the unique contributions that each person brings to Connecticut Children’s.

Kindness: It Goes Both Ways

Families, we know your kids take comfort in kindness. They look for it, and so do we. It fuels us, supports us, and helps us continue to go beyond imagination to care for all of you. That’s why, at Connecticut Children’s, we live by the Golden Rule: do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

As Connecticut’s only health system 100% dedicated to kids, we strive to create an environment where we all feel respected, a sense of belonging, and empowered to be the best we can be in service to our mission and each other. We stand with health systems across Connecticut and the Connecticut Hospital Association:

We ask for your help in continuing our culture of Kindness. Let’s be kind to one another and focus on the true stars of the show—your kids. Our real-life superheroes.
