Physician (the “Specialty Group”)

Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group (the “Specialty Group”) is a pediatric physician group that provides primary
care and specialty physician services. If you/your child is treated by a physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant
(other than a radiologist or anesthesiologist) during a practice visit, during certain outpatient hospital department services or while in the hospital, you/your child is receiving physician services. These physician services are provided at the Medical Center in Hartford and other satellite locations.

Other Services

Other service providers may also be involved in providing care for you/your child. The Medical Center and Specialty
Group have contracts with these providers to perform the services. Examples of these services include:

  • A radiologist from Jefferson Radiology who interprets you/your child’s x-ray results
  • An anesthesiologist from Integrated Anesthesia Associates  who provides anesthesia services to you/your child during a surgery or procedure
  • A clinical laboratory (Quest Diagnostics) that performs tests on you/your child’s clinical specimens (such as blood, urine, etc.)
  • A pathologist from Hartford Pathology Associates who analyzes a tissue sample that is received after surgery

Fees

We recognize that your time is valuable and want you/your child to be able to receive all of you/your child’s services in one visit. As
such, it is possible that you may receive physician services, hospital services and/or other services during the same visit.

If you/your child receives inpatient or outpatient hospital services during a visit, the Medical Center will send a bill for the hospital services.

If you/your child receives any physician services during a practice visit, during certain outpatient hospital department services or while you/your child is in the hospital, the Specialty Group will send a bill for the physician services.

If you/your child receives care or other services from a provider during a visit (other than from the Medical Center or
Specialty Group), each of those other service providers will send a bill for their services.
