The Educating Practices program provides pediatricians with timely, evidence-based clinical information and office tools, and helps them connect to community and state resources so they are able to implement practice changes. Educating Practices utilizes an academic detailing model of brief, free training modules that are delivered by subject matter experts either in the comfort of a provider’s office or virtually over lunch or another convenient time. The approach includes the entire office team and focuses on practice-based change to improve care delivery. Participation in the program’s training modules qualifies participating physicians for continuing medical education (CME) credits. Physicians can also engage in quality improvement projects associated with some of the modules to qualify for MOC Part 4 credit. The program is funded by the Connecticut Department of Public Health and supported by Connecticut Children’s.
