James Moore, MD, PhD, is a Neonatologist and President of Connecticut Children’s Specialty Group.

Dr. Moore received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Syracuse University and earned his Master of Science, Doctor of Philosophy, and Medical Degree from Emory University. He completed his pediatric residency at UT Southwestern Medical School and a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. He completed his research fellowship at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

Dr. Moore is active in clinical research in the areas of Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) and human milk research. In addition, he is recognized nationally for graduate education and has been awarded the Richard Rivas Teaching Award, the Founder’s Award from the Southern Society for Pediatric Research, and was the Graham’s Foundation Honoree in 2019 for contributions to Neonatology.

Dr. Moore is board-certified in both Pediatrics and Neonatology and is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Section for Perinatal Pediatrics.
