Nursing Student Placements
Connecticut Children’s is committed to providing a quality learning experience for nursing students.
The traditional instructor-led experience involves an instructor bringing a group of students to a clinical unit in the hospital for learning.
Requests for Clinical Groups must be submitted by the school’s Nursing Placement Coordinator using the Nursing Student Request-Clinical Groups/Capstone form.
Capstone placements are limited to senior-level students; these students are paired with a preceptor in the student’s area of interest. There are a limited number of placements available in any given semester.
Requests for Capstone Placements must be submitted by the school’s Nursing Placement Coordinator using the Nursing Student Request-Clinical Groups/Capstone form.
- Fall requests (August 15 and December 31) must be submitted by April 1
- Spring requests (January 1 and May 15) must be submitted by October 1
- Summer requests (May 15 and August 15) must be submitted by March 1
Acceptance of requests will be made three weeks after the deadline. After acceptance and once all mandatory forms have been submitted and approved, the instructor will be notified and a badge appointment will be scheduled.
