As you know, we have been thoughtfully evaluating the future of our gender care services. As of July 16, Connecticut Children’s began winding down the gender care program for patients under age 19. This proactive decision is the result of evolving federal guidance and legislation and has been made after months of careful planning and clinical alignment.

While new referrals are no longer being accepted for medical and surgical care, our behavioral and mental health services remain fully open for new and existing patients. To make a behavioral or mental health services referral, please contact OneCall:

This continues to be an evolving and fluid situation. We appreciate your partnership and flexibility during the time. We will continue to update you as we proceed thoughtfully and compassionately.
