Eliaz Brumer, MD, is a pediatric pulmonologist in the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. He specializes in the care of infants and children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), complex chronic lung disease of prematurity, and pediatric interstitial lung disease. Dr. Brumer is dedicated to advancing evidence-based, physiology-driven care and improving outcomes by tailoring management to specific disease phenotypes. His clinical and academic work focuses on developing standardized care pathways and improving transitions from inpatient to outpatient care for high-risk populations. He has led quality improvement and research initiatives aimed at optimizing the diagnosis, management, and long-term follow-up of infants and children with pulmonary disease. Dr. Brumer has additional training in undersea and hyperbaric medicine and is certified as a diving medicine physician. This background reflects his broader interest in respiratory physiology under extreme conditions and complements his clinical approach to complex pulmonary disease. He is passionate about medical education and mentorship, with a strong interest in teaching physiology and pathophysiology as the foundation for clinical decision-making. He is committed to fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and growth among trainees.
