The discussion I had with Dr. Han did not match his report that is in My Chart. He was very friendly and kind, but when I looked in my chart and saw that my son was labeled with a "severe" left ventricle dilation. The dilation has progressed from mild, to moderate, to severe over the last 30 days. I found it was concerning that he didn't tell me that, especially after a discussion about a family history of dilated cardiomyopathy. My child's cardiac care was turned over to the nephrology team. I fully understand that the dilation is common with kidney failure and typically resolves over time, but the disconnect between our conversation and the report was very nerve wracking. I ended up meeting with the Nephrologist on call and she went over the results with me and is looking further into it.

I liked that he noticed my daughter and specifically addressed her as she is the patient. However, I had to ask things point blank, like "but there is a hole." as he did not directly tell me about a PFO. I also found out about things the Echo found on THE MYCHART REPORT. He did not tell me. Even if something is trivial or unlikely to affect her long-term, it would be nice to get a full picture of my daughter's healthcare and be put at ease. We came due to my other child having heart surgery, not giving me the courtesy of proper information or counseling is a disservice. I am a healthcare professional and hope to never treat a patient like this. I plan on going to another doctor and don't plan on bringing my older child who needs cardio monitoring here or to this doctor.

Dr Han was very open to our concerns and we felt listened to. This was a second opinion visit since previous (at umass) we felt the doctor was extremely dismissive and curt. Dr Han was warm and understanding.
