Kathryn Muccino, MBA, MSN, RN, CPNP, is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Connecticut Children's. Kathryn's professional background includes extensive clinical experience in emergency medicine and trauma, urgent care, and primary care. Kathryn is passionate about all aspects of pediatric pulmonary medicine and has vast experience caring for a variety of pulmonary conditions, in both acute care and primary care settings. She is dedicated to constructing treatment plans that best accommodate each child and family's individualized needs.
She is passionate about mentoring and teaching and has held appointments as a clinical professor at various academic institutions. During her time as an instructor at Sacred Heart University, Kathryn traveled annually to Guatemala to teach bachelor's and master’s level nursing students, while providing clinical care to the native population. She also continues her tenure as the Nursing Director of BASE Camp: a national Interprofessional Simulation-based Pediatric Emergency Medicine Conference.
Kathryn holds a Master of Science degree in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from NYU and an MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Administration from Yale University. She is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
In her free time, Kathryn enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys cooking and traveling, is an avid runner, and enjoys any outdoor activity. Kathryn has also enjoyed volunteering her time on various international outreach trips, where she provides direct medical care to children and families.
