Hearing that your child should see a pediatric hematologist can feel overwhelming. Many parents immediately wonder if something is wrong.
The good news? Most referrals are not for cancer. Pediatric hematologists care for many common blood conditions, including anemia, iron deficiency, nosebleeds, clotting disorders and abnormal blood tests. Often, the visit simply helps answer questions and create a treatment plan.
