Connecticut Children’s Hemostasis & Thrombosis Program is a federally funded program that provides compassionate care to children and adults with bleeding and clotting disorders. We treat the whole person and their family through comprehensive care coordination of all the medical and psychosocial aspects of bleeding disorders. We emphasize early diagnosis and intervention to prevent disease complications. Our team creates a positive impact on the health, lifestyle and long-term well-being of our patients.

Types of Bleeding Disorders We Treat

We diagnose and treat patients with a variety of bleeding disorders, including:

  • Hemophilia
  • Von Willebrand Disease (VWD)
  • Rare factor deficiencies
  • Platelet disorders
  • Blood clots (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism)
  • Thrombophilia evaluations to understand individual risk for blood clot

We also provide select bleeding disorders specialty medications through our HTC 340B Factor Program.

Comprehensive Care

Our team at Connecticut Children’s work together to create a coordinated care plan for our patients and families to ensure the best care possible. We create individualized plans for each patient that may include many of our specialists.
