Kidney Disorders (Nephrology)

doctor examining patientThe Division of Nephrology at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center is a leader in pediatric nephrology services throughout the region, caring for infants, children and adolescents with a wide range of renal disorders including congenital and acquired kidney disease.

Our multidisciplinary team offers special expertise in the care of very young children with renal failure, children with complex urinary tract abnormalities and children of all ages who require dialysis or transplantation.

Advanced Clinical Care

Nephrology services are provided by a highly trained and diverse team of board certified physicians, social workers, child life specialists and nutritionists.

We provide comprehensive diagnostic services and treatment for the entire range of kidney disorders, including disease and injury. Where needed, these services are offered in close collaboration with other divisions, including cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, rheumatology, surgery, and neurology. Our nephrology team evaluates and treats a range of conditions, including:

Birth Defects

  • VATER association

Dialysis and Transplantation

  • Dialysis (continuous renal replacement therapy and chronic dialysis)
