Children and adolescents with renal disease often need dialysis on their path to kidney transplant. The state-of-the-art Robert R. Rosenheim Foundation Dialysis Center offers our patients tailored treatment plans and a highly specialized care team comprised of pediatric dialysis nurses, a nephrology specific nutritionist, social services, child-life specialists and even a teacher.

Created with your child in mind, this new space has been optimized to enhance safety and provide the very best in care and comfort. Available services include:

  • hemodialysis
  • peritoneal dialysis
  • therapeutic apheresis

All services will be administered under the supervision of our pediatric specialists.

Prioritizing Safety

Your child’s safety is always our top priority. Connecticut Children’s participates in the Standardized Care to Improve Outcomes in Pediatric Endstage Renal Disease (SCOPE) collaborative. SCOPE prevents infections in pediatric peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis patients using large-scale collaboration to identify and spread effective interventions across pediatric care settings. Patients at SCOPE centers have a reduced risk of infections, fewer hospitalizations, and maintain a normal school and family life.

Interactive Entertainment

When a patient comes to our Dialysis Center they will be greeted by a 6-foot-tall ultra HD interactive wall. During dialysis patients will be able to control the Apple TV and lighting in their private rooms with the iPads in each room.
