Research

With a Center of Research Excellence, the orthopedics department has three researchers leading a range of local and national projects to derive safer, more effective and less invasive treatments for pediatric orthopedic conditions. Studies include understanding the 3D basis of scoliosis to management of concussions.

Established more than 30 years ago, the internationally renowned Center for Motion Analysis at Connecticut Children’s is a full-service laboratory offering a wide range of diagnostic services for the evaluation of children with complex neuromuscular, acquired or congenital disorders that affect walking.

The Center for Motion Analysis serves as a thriving research hub for the Division of Orthopedics, pushing the boundaries of motion analysis to understand pathologic movement disorders as well as sport-specific actions, such as running and throwing.
