Connecticut Children’s Sleep Center specializes in diagnosing disorders that disturb children’s sleep. Our highly trained physicians use polysomnography, a type of sleep study, to identify sleep problems. Our Sleep Center is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Our goal: to give you and your child a good night’s sleep.
In addition to our board-certified physicians, including Jay D. Kenkare, MD, we also have a board-certified behavioral sleep psychologist, Lynelle Schneeberg, PsyD. She works with parents whose children have difficulty falling or staying asleep by helping them develop a bedtime routine that will teach their children to fall asleep quickly and independently in their own room and stay there all night long.
Our team also includes an APRN who specializes in sleep medicine as well as registered polysomnographic technologists who set up and monitor children’s sleep studies.
Because the body acts differently during sleep, a sleep study is used to monitor several body functions including breathing, eye movements, sleep stages, muscle activity, body positions, heartbeat and brain waves.
