Connecticut Children’s two-dimensional running analysis in Farmington, Connecticut is a comprehensive program consisting of multiple running trials on a Noraxon™ pressure treadmill. The Noraxon treadmill has the ability to capture the force generated from each foot upon landing, running cadence, symmetry of limbs, range of motion of each joint, and to record the runner from right, left and rear views. A member of the Division of Physical Therapy will collect and interpret this data in order to identify areas of need for the patient/athlete regarding injury prevention, injury rehabilitation or simply to improve running performance.

Who can participate?

  • Any individual interested in identifying ways to improve their running mechanics or performance and avoid injury.
  • Any injured or recovering individual who plans to return to a sport but wishes to identify possible risk factors.
  • Can be incorporated into a treatment plan for any injured individual with a referral for physical therapy.

Please note there is no designated age range to participate, so long as the participant can physically run on a treadmill for the appropriate length of time needed to complete assessment.
