Common Golf Injuries

Golf is one of the oldest sports around. It is a precision ball and club sport, and is one of a few sports that do not require a standardized playing area.

Golf gained mainstream popularity in 1996 when Tiger Woods turned professional. Since then, golf has become a very popular sport by those of all walks of life.

Injuries in golf range from wrist injuries to low back strains, however sprained ankles are not uncommon. Lower back injuries can occur due to the rapid twisting and rotation associated with the swing and follow through, or from something as simple as bending over to pick up your ball or clubs.

Many golf injuries can be of the acute nature stemming from hitting a root that may be under the ball or rolling the ankle from walking on uneven terrain.
