Common Skiing Injuries

Skiing is a popular sport during the winter months. Many skiers are recreational skiers who hit the slopes when the snow has fallen. Unfortunately, a carefully planned ski trip can come to an unfortunate end due to injury.

Even as the technology to make equipment becomes more and more advanced, unfortunately, injuries still occur. In the early days of skiing, ankle injuries were common. The development of improved hard shelled boots helped to decrease those injuries, but knee injuries have increasingly become more common.

Falling while skiing can also lead to fractures and concussions. Proper safety equipment like a helmet, good bindings, and properly fitted boots can help to decrease risk of injury.
