Common Weight Lifting Injuries

Weight lifting is an essential part of any sport program. Weight lifting can take on a variety of forms: strength training to train for sports, competition weight lifting, and rehabilitating a certain area due to injury.

Weight lifting, however, can be the root of an injury if proper techniques and training regimens are not followed. Areas that can be susceptible to injury from weight lifting are the shoulders and low back.

Proper techniques should always be employed. Most importantly a training regimen that allows the body time to recover after a period of exercise should be implemented, as overuse or overtraining is often the cause of an injury.
