Dr. Vella has practiced Pediatric Emergency Medicine for over 20 years. After earning his medical degree from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, he completed his residency training in pediatrics at Columbia-Presbyterian Babies and Children’s Hospital, and then a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Dr. Vella most recently served as Associate Chief Medical and Quality Officer at NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital leading the overall strategy, direction, and operational management of all areas associated with quality, safety, and performance improvement at that campus. Most recently he completed an MBA at the University of Massachusetts Amherst Isenberg School of Management.
