Lead Treatment Services The Connecticut Children’s Lead Treatment Center focuses on primary prevention of lead poisoning through education of pediatricians and other local agencies. No blood lead level is considered safe in children. In 2021, the CDC lowered the lead reference value to 3.5ug/dL, at which level children require further management. The state of Connecticut adopted the new reference value and will be supporting it with lower thresholds of local health department involvement.
