Preventive Health Care

During wellness visits, the primary care team will talk about important issues that may be of concern to your child and family and answer questions on topics such as behavior, development, discipline, education, nutrition, safety, and family relationships. Preventive health care also includes immunizations (shots) children need to prevent serious illnesses such as hepatitis, whooping cough and measles.

For Former Patients of UConn Health Pediatrics

Connecticut Children’s began operating pediatric clinics in the same sites as UConn Health Pediatrics as of October 1, 2016.

Connecticut Children’s is the only free-standing children’s hospital in Connecticut, which is important because it means every employee, nurse and physician is specially trained to care for children. We understand children’s needs, their concerns and most importantly how much you care about them!

We want to assure you that this transition will be as seamless as possible. Your child will continue to see the same trusted physicians and your appointments will continue in the exact same location.
