One Year Post Treatment
An update from Nico’s mom, Michelle
It’s hard to believe that Nico is now ONE YEAR post treatment!
Since his original diagnosis, Nico has continued to have clean scans, and we couldn’t be more grateful for every good report. He continues to have scans every three months, and while those appointments can still bring plenty of nerves, we are so incredibly proud of the progress he has made over this past year.
Most importantly, Nico has finally been able to just be a kid again.
He’s in first grade, making new friends, riding his bike, playing outside, and spending as much time as possible swimming and fishing at the lake. He absolutely loves being surrounded by his family and making all those little memories that we once prayed so hard for.
After everything he has been through, seeing him doing normal kid things again is truly incredible. Watching him laugh, play, learn, explore and just enjoy childhood is something we will never take for granted.
One year stronger. One year braver. One year of getting to watch Nico just be Nico.
We are beyond proud of our boy and so thankful for every single day. Here’s to many more clean scans, big adventures and ordinary little moments that feel anything but ordinary to us.
