Myelomeningocele Program Connecticut Children’s Spina Bifida Program provides multidisciplinary and transdivisional care for children with myelomeningocele. Patients are cared for by multiple subspecialists including Urology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedics, Gastroenterology and Nephrology. Children with spina bifida may have problems with way the bladder and bowels work, which can impact the kidneys. Children and adolescents may have testing performed in our sophisticated urodynamic laboratory, as well as imaging such as ultrasounds to monitor their bladder and kidney function.
